Children, teenagers and young adults bring vitality, optimism and hope to
all corners of today’s Church. These young people are singularly gifted in
evangelizing both peers and adults as they enthusiastically participate in
all aspects of their parish communities.
Teenagers and young adults have been called “the future of our Church”, but
in reality, they are the Church of today. Catholic Youth Ministry and the
Young Adult Ministry are no longer just Sunday night meetings and pizza.
Today’s Catholic teens and young adults are living their faith in both their
parish and secular communities. They serve in soup kitchens, teach CCD
classes, serve their peers and God in parish and diocesan leadership roles.
In everything they do, these young people are living examples of God’s love
and the teachings of 1 Timothy 4:12: Let no one look down on your
youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity, show
yourself an example of those who believe
The CYM Organization at Saint Patrick Catholic Church in
Washington, Illinois has an average of twenty-two youth each year.
They are led by Greg Keck, email: ggkeck@gmail.com
The members have a full program of activities and fun events. Please
view the photos of events over the last two years.
